LG G Pad 8.3 UK release date promised before 2014

LG has promised that the LG G Pad 8.3 will be released in the UK before the end of the year, but is available in Korea on October 14.

Europe will have to wait before it can get its hands on the LG G Pad 8.3, as availability for the LG tablet won’t be coming until later this year. The company’s homeland of Korea can buy it from October 14, with North America and the rest of the world scheduled for a release date in the coming weeks.

The tablet was officially unveiled at IFA 2013 in early September, showcasing its 8.3-inch screen and LG G2 inspired features.

LG has yet to reveal an LG G Pad 8.3 UK price, but retailing for 550,000 won in South Korea we expect it will be around £320 here.

LG G Pad 8.3 Features

Pretty much an oversized LG G2 minus those trademark rear buttons, the LG G Pad has an 8.3-inch WUXGA display with a 1920 x 1200p Full HD screen and a 273ppi image density. Like the LG G2, there is a slimline bezel that keeps the tablet measuring up little bigger than that 8.3-inch display.

Powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM, the LG G Pad 8.3 also has 16GB of internal storage and a 4600mAh Lithium-Polymer battery.

The LG G Pad 8.3 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean topped up with LG’s UX interface, complete with LG G2 software features like the Knock On unlock function and Q Slide for multi-tasking.

It will be available in black or white and comes a 5-megapixel rear camera partnered with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper.

A strong competitor for the popular Apple iPad mini, the LG G Pad 8.3 offers a thickness of 8.3mm and weighs in at 338g.
