HTC One Max with fingerprint sensor teased by official launch invites

HTC has released an official launch invite, most likely for the HTC One Max with a rear fingerprint scanner.

The invite announces that HTC Taiwan will be hosting a product launch in Kaohsiung, Taiwan at local time 6pm on Friday, October 18. This rare late start from the company could be so that international publications can tune in as it means HTC’s event will start at 11am BST.

Strongly indicating the presence of a large screen smartphone at the launch, the invite will most likely be for the 5.9-inch HTC One Max.

The tagline of the invite strongly supports the rumours that the HTC One Max will pack a rear fingerprint sensor, similar to that found in the home button of the iPhone 5S.

“One finger opens up a big view. You are invited to immerse in the sound with us”, reads the invite in Taiwanese.

It looks like the HTC One Max will also retain the HTC BoomSound front stereo speakers with Beats by Dre audio technology inside, and be the supersized HTC One that has been seen in leaked pictures.

Originally tipped for a launch on October 15, the same day as Apple is expected to launch the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2, the HTC One Max should have a 5.9-inch Full 1080p HD resolution display.

Potentially powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM, the HTC One Max should also have 16GB of internal storage and run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Like the HTC One and HTC One mini, the One Max will have UltraPixel camera technology and the software features introduced by the latest HTC Sense UI, including HTC Zoe and HTC BlinkFeed.

The HTC One Max is also rumoured to have a removable back panel, unlike its siblings, but it is unsure whether the battery will be replaceable too.
