The new HTC One M9 handset will be announced at an event on the eve of MWC on March 1, the company has confirmed on its UK Twitter account.
While the news will surprise very few people, the announcement sets up a highly anticipated Sunday showdown between HTC and its chief Android rival Samsung who will also host an event on March 1.
“Let them stare. The new HTC One revealed 01.03.15.” HTC tweeted on Tuesday evening.
The invite offers very little in the way of fresh information, although the ‘let them stare’ tagline suggests HTC is once again pretty pleased with the aesthetics of its premium handset.
This year’s model, expected to be called the HTC One M9, may offer more modest improvements than those seen in previous years. Camera and display tech bumps have been tipped as well as the introduction of the Snapdragon 810 processor.

With Samsung also unveiling the Galaxy S6 on March 1, the day before MWC gets underway has a Super Bowl Sunday feel to it, as both of the big hitters show their best hand for 2015.
