With the Xperia Z3 still fresh in consumer hands, it might seem a little early to start spinning rumours on the Xperia Z4 – but Sony’s release cycle says differently.
The latest in Z4-related chatter comes courtesy of PhoneArena, which cites two different sources in a new report that reveals possible specs for the handset.
First up for your consideration is the Xperia Z4 display, which is now tipped to show up with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen.
Sound familiar? It likely does, because that’s the same display classification that shipped on the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2.
The Xperia Z1 also touted a 1080p display, albeit across a slightly more meagre 5-inches of handset real estate.
The report puts these latest claims down to what’s purported to be a screenshot from an internal Sony presentation regarding its upcoming handset.
The news is in contrast to previous whispers of a either a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch display with a 2K resolution.
However, a second source pegged the device to rock a QHD display once again according to the site, so it seems resolution is anyone’s guess right now.
The report also revealed talk of the Xperia Z4 using a Snapdragon 810 chip, Qualcomm’s fast-approaching crème de la crème of application processors.
Unfortunately this could all be hot air, as Qualcomm’s next chip is rumoured to be experiencing delays (although the firm says otherwise), which doesn’t gel with an expected early 2015 debut for the Xperia Z4.
