It's been confirmed that Apple is once again selling Bose headphones and speakers in its retail stores.
Two months ago, Apple stopped selling Bose equipment amidst litigation for noise cancelling technology patent infringements.
Bose launched the court action in the wake of Apple's take-over of Beats, one of Bose's biggest rivals in the audio equipment space. Apple settled out of court, but evidently this won't have helped Bose's continued position in Apple's shops.
The company also angered Apple by locking Beats out of America's NFL with an exclusive product deal. San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, was famously fined $10,000 by the National Football League for wearing Beats headphones during a post-game press conference.
Earlier in the week, however, reports emerged suggesting that Bose gear was being shipped to Apple Stores once again.
Now those reports have been confirmed. Bose headphones and speakers have returned to availability on the US and Canadian Apple Stores. They're still absent in the UK, it seems, but presumably that's simply pending the arrival of the appropriate shipments.
All in all, it's been a rather petty and unnecessary squabble between two respected tech companies. Which, let's face it, is just what we want to see.
