Samsung Galaxy Alpha pictures leak upcoming iPhone rival

New Samsung Galaxy Alpha pictures have leaked, with the upcoming handset shown to sport an iPhone mimicking metal design.

With Samsung having long been tipped to be working on a metal smartphone, to quell the discontent surrounding its plastic Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 flagship offerings, the Alpha is now widely expected to be officially unveiled in the coming weeks.

Before Samsung could officially lift the lid on the phone, however, new images have surfaced showing off a handset with a slim profile and sleek, brushed metal edging.

Although the phone now appears set to feature a metal frame, the handset’s rear construction it still shrouded in mystery. From the latest leaked images it is hard to tell whether the phone’s rear is plastic or metal, although we are keeping our fingers crossed for the latter.

Far from the first time the handset has leaked; previous teases have shown a device with a slim line form factor and metal edging. Taking design pointers from Apple’s leading smartphones, the Alpha’s metal frame appears to have been squared off, when compared with the company’s recent Android efforts.

Having previously been tipped to host an LG G3 rivalling array of high-end specs, it now appears the Galaxy Alpha will boast a more modest collection of innards, with a 4.8-inch 720p HD AMOLED display set to lead the way.

With an eight-core Exynos processor expected to keep things running, 2GB of RAM and a 12-megapixel rear-mounted camera have although been pegged to feature on this metal device.

With the latest leaked images showing off a white bodied handset, previous teases have revealed the device will also launch in a customary black hue.
