Sony has revealed PS4 sales have now reached 10 million across the world, in just 9 months since the console launched.
Squashing any sales claims made by Microsoft for the Xbox One, Sony's GamesCom 2014 press conference was the stage used to announce the whopping 10 million sales figure.
"Just to clarify, that means 10 million PS4s sold through to consumers", explained Sony during the conference.
Last official sales figures back in April stood at 7 million, so Sony has continued to see strong sales growth through the last few months.
Around the same time, Microsoft revealed it had sold 5 million consoles, but since then has kept quiet on the actual sales figures. The company did say removing the Kinect had helped boost sales though.
Sony went on to thank its users for the support it has received from fans since launch.
President and Group CEO of Sony Entertainment Worldwide, Andrew House, added that "this is just a start".
