The HTC One 2 has been sold for just £301
Adding to the mountain of leaks that have already surfaced, the still to be announced HTC One 2 M8 has made a premature appearance on auction site eBay.
Giving further backing to recent reports, the eBay listing has once again teased the HTC One 2’s specs sheet, with a 2.3GHz quad-core processor looking set to line up alongside the heavily rumoured dual-lens rear-mounted camera.
Having been listed in the US, the mooted handset, which is shown in packaging markedly similar to that of last year’s HTC One offering, sold for $499.99 (£301.34) after receiving five bids.
Although the seller (raj1665) has failed to explain how he got his hands on the currently unconfirmed handset, the listing states: “This phone is the latest model (2014) brand new, never used, in original packaging.
According to the listing, which we suggest is taken with a pinch of salt, the HTC One 2 will see its Snapdragon 801 CPU line up alongside 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable up to a massive 128GB via a microSD slot.
Further innards tipped to feature include a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display, Boomsound stereo speakers, the UltraPixel Duo camera with an f/2.0, 28mm lens and a 5-megapixel forward-facing camera. The usual collection of LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options are also listed.
Although the phone’s specs have made a number of premature appearances in recent weeks, the name of the inbound Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 rival has been shrouded in much mystery.
While recent reports have hinted the phone will be known as the HTC One 2, HTC M8 or HTC One M8, the leaked packaging has claimed the phone will simply be labelled the HTC One.
