EE Kestrel - the £99 4G smartphone
EE has announced its own budget Android 4G smartphone alongside some entry-level 4G tariffs.
The EE 4G smartphone is called “Kestrel” and is the first in the range of EE-branded devices.
It will launch in April for the low price of £99.99 on a 4GEE Pay as You Go tariff or you can get it for free on a 4G price plan of £13.99.
The EE Kestrel runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and features a 4.5-inch qHD display. It is compatible with CAT 4 4G LTE and has HD Voice compatibility to improve voice call quality.
EE has also announced it is launching a new range of 24 month entry-level 4G tariffs, which include a free 4G handset, 500MB of data and all inclusive minutes and texts.
Pricing for these new tariffs starts at an ultra-low £13.99 per month.
“At EE, we’re continually looking for new ways to make a quality 4G experience accessible to all,” said Pippa Dunn, CMO at EE. “By introducing the UK’s lowest price 4G smartphone, and great value entry-level plans, even more customers will now have the ability to access the UK’s most advanced 4G network and reap the benefits its offers.”
The EE 4G Extra plans have also been enhanced to offer options starting at £21.99. These tariffs offer EE’s “biggest data allowances” as well as unlimited roaming minutes and texts in Europe.
Customers on other EE Pay Monthly plans can also benefit from unlimited calls and texts when on holiday in the EU for £2 each day through EE’s new Euro Talk and Text Unlimited Bundle.
