Nokia will launch six new mobile devices in October, including its very first tablet running on Microsoft's Windows RT OS.
The multi-handset unveiling will apparently take place at a special event to be held in Abu Dhabi on October 22.
That's the claim made by The Wall Street Journal and its "people familiar with the plan" sources, at least.
It claims that the six-strong lineup will include several Lumia smartphones running on Windows Phone 8, as well as low-end feature phones running on Nokia's own S40 OS.
Most excitingly of all, Nokia will unveil its first tablet. As hinted at earlier in the week, this is likely to be called the Nokia Lumia 2520 (code-named Sirius), and will take the form of a 10.1-inch Windows RT device.
Expect a fairly low-res 1371 x 771 display contrasted with a highly competent Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU. We're also expecting a 6.7-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics.
4G support, a 10 hour battery life and a case that doubles as a keyboard are also predicted for the Nokia Lumia 2520. It should all cost around the same as an iPad, too.
Of course, the Nokia Lumia 2520 will also have competition from within the cramped confines of the Windows 8 ecosystem, as Microsoft recently announced its second generation of Surface tablet devices.
With Nokia having agreed to sell its hardware arm to Microsoft next year, it will be interesting to see how it differentiates its tablet offering from that of its partner and soon-to-be master.
