GTA 5 wallpapers released to celebrate Independence Day

To celebrate Independence Day in America, Rockstar Games has released two GTA 5 artwork wallpapers entitled Friends and Family.

The duo of GTA 5 widescreen wallpapers feature two Los Santos residents that are connected to the game’s trio of protagonists, Franklin, Trevor and Michael.

Tracey and Jimmy, the offspring of rich ex-con Michael, are depicted in one of the new GTA 5 wallpapers. Michael’s prodigal son is surrounded by fast food and bongs and can be seen giving his sister a quick middle finger.

The other GTA 5 artwork wallpaper features Lamar, who Rockstar describes as “Franklin’s partner-in-crime” seen “caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar.”

All the GTA 5 wallpapers can be downloaded directly from the Rockstar Games website in varying sizes.

GTA 5 Features

GTA 5 will move away from the gritty, darker undertones of GTA 4 in favour of humour, chaos and the personal lives of the three main characters.

The game will present the first playable multi-character line up in the series allowing players to swap between them at will, even during missions. The whole storyline, set in Rockstar’s fictional Los Angeles, Los Santos, will revolve around eight major heists.

GTA 5’s Los Santos will be the biggest map Rockstar has produced as it is said to pack a map bigger than the combined worlds of GTA 4 and GTA: San Andreas or around 3 times larger than Red Dead Redemption.

““It’s worth nothing that people are responding not only to the game’s vast size and scope but also to its innovative three-characters structure and heist mission design, which offer immense opportunities for gameplay and storytelling that should raise the bar, not only for this franchise but for all interactive entertainment,” said Take-Two President, Karl Slatoff, of the game’s criticism so far.

GTA 5 will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17.

In a recent Rockstar A&A session, the developer said the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions are still MIA.

“The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a September 17 worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time.”
