Canon EOS 70D launched with new Dual Pixel AF technology


Canon has unveiled the new Canon EOS 70D DSLR that is the first to pack the new Dual Pixel CMOS auto-focus technology.


Complete with a 20.2-megapixel image sensor, the Canon EOS 70D has a DIGIC 5+ processor and can capture Full HD video footage.

Canon EOS 70D Features


The Canon EOS 70D features a 20.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and is the first DSLR to pack the Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology that is said to deliver accurate and smooth auto focus when shooting Full HD videos or when using Live View mode.


Capable of capturing up to 7fps via its 14-bit DIGIC 5+ processor and 19-point AF System, the Canon EOS 70D can take up to 65 JPEG or 16 RAW image in any single burst.


With an ISO range of 100 – 12800, the Canon EOS 70D is suitable for low-light and night time photography.


It has a 3-inch Vari-angle Clear View LCD Intelligent Viewfinder that offers a 1,040k resolution and 0.95x magnification.


Also packing Wi-Fi connectivity, the Canon EOS 70D has Movie Servo AF mode to keep subjects in shot when making Full 1920 x 1080p HD videos.


Canon EOS 70D Release Date and Price

The Canon EOS 70D can be purchased body only for £1079.99. Alternatively it can be bought with a 18-55 STM lens for £1199.99 or with an 18-135 STM lens for £1399.99.


It will be available at the end of August.
