New PES 2014 trailer promises ‘next-gen equivalent visuals’

A new PES 2014 trailer has been released, with publisher Konami suggesting the upcoming football sim will offer “next-gen equivalent visual quality.”

Despite a PES 2014 release date having only been confirmed for existing consoles, Konami has claimed that the FIFA 14 rival will offer visuals equivalent to what titles on the upcoming Xbox One and PS4 can provide. A PES 2014 release date has been set for later this year.

Showing off the upcoming in-game graphics and gameplay features, the new PES 2014 trailer has seen Konami state the new “FOX engine used in the core of the system” will offer “next-gen equivalent visual quality.”

Offering further details on the graphical abilities of the game, Konami added that in PES 2014, “details can be seen from emotional facial reactions to streams of sweat running down their foreheads.”

Focussing on more than just the players and ball physics and graphics, the latest PES 2014 trailer has revealed that the game will offer more stadium detail than any previous Pro Evolution Soccer title, with dynamic sunlight to offer changing game environments.

Following the first PES 2014 trailer which touched down at E3 2013 earlier this month, the latest video offers more insight into the new TrueBall Technology being introduced to the much loved sporting franchise.

Discussing the TrueBall addition previously, an official Konami spokesperson stated: “In addition to steering the ball with subtle movements, there is the ability to shield the ball from opposing players, use deft controls to wrong-foot them, and intuitive methods to master close control.”

They added: “Gone are the limitations imposed by dated animation systems and AI elements, and instead PES 2014 boasts a central core that perfectly mimics the skill and awareness that elevates the world’s greatest players above their peers.”
