Motorola's next-gen flagship phone might not be the powerhouse we expected

Details of Motorola’s next flagship phone have leaked online, with claimed Motorola X Smartphone specs suggesting the device will not quite be a Samsung Galaxy S4 rival.

With the former handset giant having been relatively quiet on the smartphone scene since its recent takeover by Google, new details of the repeatedly leaked Motorola X Smartphone have now hit the web, suggested the phone might not be the revolutionary powerhouse many had expected.

According to the repeated tech tipster @evleaks, the Motorola X Smartphone specs will see the handset adopt a 720p HD resolution display, a considerable step back from the 1080p Full HD offerings found on the current market leading Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.

Although far from confirmed, the claimed Motorola X Smartphone specs have suggested the handset will be more of a mid-market offering than an out-and-out smartphone powerhouse, with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor reportedly given the nod. On top of this 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage have been tipped to make the cut.

On a photographic front, it has been suggested that the Motorola X Smartphone camera collection will see a 10-megapixel rear-mounted camera line up alongside a second, 2-megapixel forward-facing snapper.

While a Motorola X Smartphone release date has yet to be confirmed, the ailing manufacturer last month did tease the device with Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside, speaking at a conference, claim that the company is working on a new “hero” phone and that it is far along enough that he had one in his pocket.

Offering small snippets of information on the handset, Woodside revealed that the Motorola X will be the company’s “first smartphone that’s going to be built in the United States.” He added that the phone will features all “ultra-low power” components and will be “contextually aware.”
