The Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 update has started to filter out across Europe, with handsets in Spain on the receiving end of the Lollipop-themed patch.
While UK S5 owners are still waiting for the Android 5.0 update, SamMobile has reported network-unlocked devices in Spain have started to receive the substantial over-the-air update.
Spanish users join S5 owners in Samsung’s native South Korea in being offered the Android Lollipop update.
Although Samsung has yet to share any official word on when UK S5 owners can expect the latest Android OS update, it has been suggested the download will be available during “the next couple of weeks”.
The Android 5.0 update brings a number of design and performance improvements to the S5, including significant battery enhancements and Google’s new material interface.
Further Android 5.0 improvements include 64-bit processor support, guest mode features and Gmail enhancements.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the Korean manufacturer’s latest flagship phone. The handset pairs a 5.1-inch, 1080p, Full HD display with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera.
While the S5 Android 5.0 update is still limited to certain regions, some handsets are now offering widespread Lollipop support.
With the LG G3 one of the most recent devices to join the Lollipop revolution, the Moto X, Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 have also been updated to the new OS.
