Samsung has announced the world’s first all-in-one PC with a curved screen, ahead of next week’s CES 2015 show in Las Vegas.
With the new Samsung Ativ One 7, the company has taken its flexible display technology, previously featured within 4K televisions, monitors and smartphones, and adapted it for the PC market.
The desktop all-in-one has a 27-inch full HD display manufactured using a TN panel rather than IPS technology. Samsung says the curve actually tricks you into thinking the display is larger than 27-inches.
Behind the curved display there are, amazingly, some computer components too. Samsung is packing in an Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive.
It’s got a pair of built-in 10W speakers (with lossless audio transmission possible through APT-X), there’s 4 USB ports, HDMI in/out ports and an SD card reader.
It’s got Windows 8.1 built-in and the SideSync 3.0 software, which allows Galaxy smartphone owners to receive calls and texts on their computer, while also mirroring its screen.

Samsung is also slipping the Ativ One 7 in the first quarter of 2015 for the US price of $1,299. We’re still waiting on word on UK price and availability.
The all-in-one will be on show at CES next week and we’ll be at the Samsung stand to take a look. Is a new PC with a curved screen on your New Year shopping list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
