Motorola has finally brought Moto Maker to the UK, giving us Brits the chance to create our own customised smartphones.
Landing in anticipation of the new Moto X release, Moto Maker has made the jump to our humble shores after more than a year of availability in the US. It will let you create a bespoke Moto X, with all custom orders shipping when the phone is released later this month.
Letting you customise your new Moto X handset, the tool allows changes to be made to a number of facets of the upcoming smartphone.
As well as altering the phone’s colour, there are material choices to be made too, with plastic, leather and wooden backs all being offered.
On top of individual front and rear colour schemes, the phone’s trim can be individually toned, with the metallic ring surrounding the Motorola logo and the phone’s speaker grills open for customisation. The days of drab black and white handsets really are over.
For those after that extra little flourish, Moto Maker even allows you to add an engraving to the phone’s rear.
The custom Moto X prices kick off at £419.99, with different storage options and materials adding to this base fee.
Like the Nike iD of the smartphone world, you can already test out Moto Maker right here.
