The Kindle Paperwhite is set for a revamp

Amazon is apparently planning to revamp its Kindle reader line with a new 6-inch model dubbed the Kindle Voyage.

The as-yet-unannounced device was listed on Amazon’s regional sites in Germany and Japan before being promptly taken down on Wednesday.

According to the listing the Voyage’s 6-inch display would boast a pixel density of 300ppi, which is way up from the 212ppi on the existing Kindle Paperwhite.

The listing claims it’ll be the thinnest Kindle to date at 8mm thick, while it’ll be smaller than the existing flagship model at 112mm x 116. There’ll also be Wi-Fi and 3G-enabled versions as you’d expect.

The page also revealed the price point for the device which, equates to around £116 or £153 for the 3G version, although they’re likely to retail for more rounded figures upon the UK launch.

'What’s the launch date?' We hear you ask. Well the listing also provided that little nugget, claiming it’ll launch on November 4.

It also seems that the launch of the Voyage might be the end of the road for the Paperwhite name too, as evidenced by a Spanish support page which has changed references to Paperwhite with the new monicker.
