The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 specs sheet has leaked, as a prematurely unveiled benchmark shows off what the upcoming 5.9-inch handset will have to offer.
Expected to be a direct follow-on to last year’s oversized Samsung Galaxy Mega, the new Mega 2 leaks point towards a largely underwhelming device, although one which is sure to please those selfie lovers amongst you.
According to a leaked GFXBench benchmark of the Samsung SM-G7508 – reportedly the Chinese-bound edition of the Mega 2 – Samsung’s near tablet sized smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.9-inch display with a slightly disappointing 1280 x 720p HD resolution.
Things aren’t much more impressive elsewhere, either.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is said to feature Qualcomm’s new entry level Snapdragon 410 processor alongside 1.8GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage – down to 5.1GB of user accessible space once Samsung’s bloatware has been taken into account.
With a 12-megapixel rear-mounted camera listed, the Mega 2 will also reportedly benefit from a secondary, 4.7-megapixel snapper up front.
There is currently no word on when the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 will be officially unveiled, although with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 expected to launch this September, we can’t see the Korean manufacturer outing its new Mega range anytime soon and flooding the market with oversized handsets.
