Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime caught on camera

Is this the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime?

The heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has been caught on camera, as a claimed image of the metal bodied handset leaks.

Widely expected to be a premium, QHD display packing spinoff to the existing Samsung Galaxy S5, the currently unconfirmed S5 Prime has been showcased with a revised, metal form factor – a notable step up on its predecessor’s plastic body.

Surfacing courtesy of an anonymous tipster, the claimed Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime picture has hit the web via PhoneArena.

Although the handset’s screen resolution is unclear in the leaked image, it has been widely reported that the Galaxy S5 Prime will run a QHD panel with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

It is expected that S5 Prime will follow the upcoming LG G3 in packing a QHD display.

Despite being pictured with a metal edge and back, the S5 Prime does not look too dissimilar to standard S5, with a black dimpled rear still considerably less classy than the sleek, smooth curves of the rival HTC One M8.

Further Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime specs to have been teased in recent weeks include 3GB, like in the Galaxy Note 3, and the same 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera as the standard S5.

According to some reports, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, which is expected to launch later this summer, could become the first handset to run a new edition of Google’s Android OS.
