Huawei could have something pretty special in store for its 2014 flagship according to a new leak.
A Huawei software engineer has published an image of an as yet announced Huawei flagship with a metal body a la the HTC One M8.
It is tipped to be a very expensive handset that could pack some pretty impressive tech hardware when it is launched later this year.
According to the information posted on Chinese social media site Weibo, Huawei is looking to give the top-tier smartphone an all metal body and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
What not sure about you, but we saw the above image we thought it was an updated version of the HTC One Max released last year.
The fingerprint sensor is located in exactly the same spot underneath the rear camera of this unnamed Huawei device as the One Max.
It’s not clear how advanced the fingerprint scanning technology in this Huawei smartphone will be, but it will have to compete with that included in the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Huawei flagship will run on the octa-core Kirin 920 processor, which offers benchmarks that place it somewhere between the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Snapdragon 801.
Apparently, the Huawei software engineer advised that the extra special flagship will be pretty pricy and potential customers may want to start saving now if they want to purchase one.
How much that cost will actually be hasn’t been mentioned yet, but expect it be a lot more than the circa £550 mark of current flagships.
Huawei’s Richard Yu announced the company is working on this top end flagship to launch this year, explaining that it will offer “stunning” and “unique features”. Of course, he failed to elaborate further on the actual details of the device.
