Google has revealed a list of specifications for its forthcoming Google Glass wearable computer.
Over on the Google support pages the company has listed the key features and components of its revolutionary smart spectacles, and much of it reads like a smartphone spec list.
The main aspect of this head-mounted augmented reality device is its display, which beams information over one eye. This is listed as being a "High resolution display" which is "the equivalent of a 25 inch high definition screen from eight feet away."
The first Google Glass device will also sport a 5-megapixel camera which is capable of shooting 720p video. Audio, meanwhile, is handled by a slightly scary-sounding "Bone Conduction Transducer."
Back to slightly more conventional components, Google Glass will come with 16GB of flash storage, though only 12GB of this will be usable. Google also points out that Google Glass will be "synced with Google cloud storage," which we'd assume would mean a tie-in with Google Drive.
Google Glass Battery Life and Connectivity
Google anticipates that you'll be able to get "One full day of typical use" out of a single battery charge - much like a smartphone - though it warns that "Some features, like Hangouts and video recording, are more battery intensive."
When it comes to charging that battery, a standard Micro SD port has been included, though Google recommends that you use the bundled charger in order to "preserve long and prosperous Glass use."
Also distinctly smartphone-like is Google Glass's connectivity options, which encompass Bluetooth and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.
You shouldn't have too much of a problem getting Google Glass to fit, regardless of how misshapen your head is. It will come with adjustable nosepads, as well as extras in two sizes. We think this means there'll be three sizes to chose from overall.
