Samsung is readying up a host of new Android-based tablets due for release this year, according to a new report.

Sammobile reckons both the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note tablet series will see new additions, thanks to a newly acquired list of model numbers.

The article claims ‘at least four new tablets’ are planned, padding out the South Korean tech giant’s ever-brimming product roster.

First up is the Galaxy Tab AS (small) - model number SM-T350/351 - which is tipped to succeed last year’s Galaxy Tab 4 7.0.

Also expected to join the Tab series is the Galaxy Tab AL (large), which has a model number of SM-T550/551, leading on from the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.

The Note series will also see new entrants, with the SM-P350/351 and the SM-P550/551 expected to land as Wi-Fi/cellular variants of mid-range Note tablets.

The former model numbers are likely to represent smaller form factors – perhaps 7- or 8-inch displays corner to corner.

The latter model numbers would likely signal beefier slates, with screens measuring anywhere up to 10- or 12-inches.

The report claims Samsung has ‘just started work on these devices’, and tells us to ‘expect them to be released in Q2 or Q4 of this year’.

It also tips all the slates to land running Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Stay tuned.
