Project Spark officially released, comes out of beta

Project Spark has finally emerged from beta and is being launched as a full download and retail purchase option.

The retail edition of Project Spark is available now in the US, with the European version coming out on Friday, October 10.

If you don’t want to wait until then, the final free-to-play edition is available to download now from the Windows 8.1 and Xbox One stores. It comes with a whole load of new content including a new adventure mode, champion features creation improvements and a multiplayer mode to enjoy with your friends.

Additional DLC content can be purchased using the in-game currency earned within the game, or buy purchasing special tokens with real-world money to speed up the process.

The £31.99 retail edition is called Project Spark: Starter Pack. It includes the aforementioned free-to-play game, but also comes with $85 worth of DLC. That includes Champions Quest: Void Storm adventure, Sir Haakon the Knight playable champion, Arctic Glaciers winter landscape and the Massive World Builders Pack expansion.

For that £31.99 investment, you’ll also get a month’s free Spark Premium membership.

If you don’t fancy having to get the retail version, you can buy the Starter Pack digitally for the same price.
