FIFA 15 stays atop UK gaming chart, despite strong competition

FIFA 15 has topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the second week running, despite strong competition from a bunch of new releases.

EA Sports’ brand new football simulator exploded onto the market on September 26 and has stayed at the top of the UK Gaming Chart for a second week, even in light of a 70 per cent drop in sales.

FIFA 15 also had to beat off fresh competition from a batch of brand new titles – namely Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Forza Horizon 2.

Shadow of Mordor entered the chart at number 2, while Xbox One exclusive Forza Horizon 2 is at number 3.

Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS, another new title for this week, entered the chart at number four, just behind the other new arrivals.

Thanks to the new crowd, Destiny slipped from number two to number five this week, but Minecraft: PlayStation Edition rose from number nine to number six due to its launch on PS4. 64 per cent of the PlayStation Edition sales were on PS4, while the original PS3 edition had 36 per cent of the sales.

Despite its launch on Xbox One, the Minecraft: Xbox Edition slipped from number four to number eight in the UK Gaming Chart this week.

Disney Infinity dropped to number seven from three, and Call of Duty: Ghosts also slipped from fifth to ninth position.

Closing the UK Gaming Chart this week is The Sims 4 at number 10, down three places from number seven last week.
