microSD support and metal body for the LG G3?
The LG G3 could have a metal body and feature microSD card support according to two new leaked images of the 2014 flagship.
Ahead of the official launch on May 27, notorious tech tipster @evleaks has provided us with a duo of images providing fresh details on the LG G3.
From the looks of the images, the LG G3 will feature a brushed metal body not too dissimilar to the HTC One M8, which will be quite a change from the glossy plastic body of the LG G2.
Previously leaked images suggest there will also be a glossy white plastic edition, but we guess this metal, more premium-looking finish will prove to be more popular with consumers.
“LG G3, fingerprint-magnet no more,” read the image’s caption on Twitter.
This brushed metal finish was also replicated on the official LG G3 event invite, plus there was a leaked image of the G3’s box, which featured a metallic golden hue.
Could this mean we see several colour and body options for the LG G3 at launch, potentially aping the Moto X? Possibly, and we don’t have long to wait until we find out.
The second of the leaked images seemingly confirms that the LG G3 will feature microSD card support, something that was missing from its predecessor.
The image also suggests the LG G3’s battery will be removable, which would let you swap out the battery pack.
The LG G3 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD 2650 x 1440p QHD 2K display running on a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, matching the Samsung Galaxy S5’s CPU specs.
2GB of RAM is expected to feature alongside 32GB of internal memory, helped of course by that microSD card support.
We also expect the G3 to pack a 13-megapixel rear camera, coupled with a 2.4-megapixel front-facing sensor.
The LG G3 is also supposedly going to launch with a totally revamped UI over Android 4.4 KitKat and feature a redesigned rear volume rocker and hold button.
