The Division screenshots reveal more post-apocalyptic New York

The fresh batch of Tom Clancy’s The Division screenshots reveal some new perspectives of the post-apocalyptic New York landscape.

Ubisoft has been beavering away quietly on The Division for quite some time now, but the publisher occasionally drip feeds us a few screenshots to keep the intrigue about the game bubbling away.

The latest collection of screenshots from the game provide some pretty stunning birds-eye shots of New York, while others reveal the squad creeping about in the night-time air.

The game is set in a New York City that has been swept by a pandemic, causing the basic services to fail and the society to collapse into chaos.

With the squad struggling to fight against the effects of a manmade virus and those who released it, the game certainly takes a new tack for a Tom Clancy game.

The effects of the pandemic are clearly seen in these screenshots, with piles of dead bodies seen rotting in the street.

You can also see the Division squad members sneaking up and grabbing an enemy from behind, or searching the streets for vital supplies a la The Last of Us but military style.

From the looks of the screenshots, The Division will have some impressive lighting effect thanks to Ubisoft’s new Snowdrop engine powering the game.

Although Ubisoft has yet to confirm a solid The Division release date, CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed it will launch “closer to the end of 2014 than the start.”

The game will launch for Xbox One , PS4 and PC.
