GTA: San Andreas heading to iOS and Android

GTA 5 fans who can’t get enough of the crime-ridden world of Los Santos are in for a treat, as Rockstar today announced plans to release a new and improved version of GTA: San Andreas, for mobile platforms.

The iconic developer has stated that the mobile version of the PS2 classic will feature remastered graphics with better shadows. The mobile version of the game will also showcase a greater draw distance, improved colour palette and enhanced models for both its cars and characters.

Alongside such aesthetic improvements, GTA: San Andreas for mobile will feature a new contextual control option that aims to display buttons only when they’re needed.

Three new control schemes for driving and manoeuvring have also been included, with the game’s checkpoint system receiving a revamp to allow for ‘easier progression.’

GTA: San Andreas for mobile will feature full controllers support, included ‘Made for iOS’ controller functionality on handsets with iOS 7.

Describing it as the “best looking version of San Andreas yet” Rockstar are set to launch the mobile version sometime next month, for iOS, Android, Windows Phone devices. The app-based game will also be made available through Amazon’s own-branded, Android-based Kindle tablet store.
