Sorry for the short notice folks (and for anyone reading this on Thursday morning), but Google is opening up invitations for its Inbox email app for a limited time later this evening.
Earlier on Wednesday, the company announced on Twitter it’ll be accepting all requests for access received between 11pm and 12 midnight UK time (6-7pm Eastern Time across the pond).
All of you Gmail users gagging to try out Inbox need to do is email inbox@google.com during the ‘Happy Hour,' with Google promising Inbox access will be offered by 1am (8pm ET).
Inbox has caused a bit of a stir since its limited beta launch last month. The Gmail-based application aims to completely revamp email apps, by showing users the most pertinent information and file thumbnails within the message preview.
Inbox also allows iOS and Android patrons to set reminders via the app, while they can ‘Snooze away’ emails and return to them at a more convenient time.
Unlike other email clients, the app also takes a few tips from the Google Now personal assistant by bringing in useful information from the web to augment email content.
The app also builds upon the email Bundles, which separate emails into categories like receipts and bank statements, keeping them out of the main inbox.
