Activision has dated the Destiny beta for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, with Microsoft consoles getting access less than a week after PlayStation gamers.
Xbox gamers will be pleased to hear they’ll be able to access the Destiny beta from 5pm on July 23, meaning PlayStation gamers only get six days of exclusivity.
Sony announced that the beta would arrive exclusively for PS4 and PS3 gamers on July 17 during its E3 2014 press conference, with Activision now adding that this will go live at 5pm.
“As we prepare to launch our first beta on multiple console platforms around the world, we are excited and eager to open the flood gates,” said Harold Ryan, Bungie President. “We already love to play Destiny and with your help we can be ready for our launch in September.”
The Destiny beta will apparently offer gamers “a diverse samply of major activities featured in the full game”.
Anyone pre-ordering Destiny from a participating retailer will automatically get access to the beta.
Developer Bungie added that the beta will be available to play solidly until 6.59am on July 28, apart from on July 21-22 when the beta will be offline for scheduled maintenance.
Bungie also announced three collector’s editions for the game – Destiny Ghost Edition (£149.99), Destiny Limited Edition (£94.99) and Destiny Digital Guardian Edition (£84.99).
Within the description of these special editions of Destiny, Bungie revealed that the exclusive PlayStation Destiny content would “remain exclusive until at least Fall of 2015”.
