TomTom has announced a new range of TomTom Go satnavs that offer lifetime real-time traffic information on the cheap.
The new TomTom Go 60, 50 and 40 satnavs feature Lifetime TomTom Traffic by connecting to your smartphone and using your data plan to provide real-time traffic information to help you plan your route.
TomTom Traffic covers all roads and combines data from millions of drivers to make sure it is accurate, even capable of pinpointing the start and end of the jams.
“The TomTom Go is a travel companion for every driver who has ever had to battle through traffic congestion”, said Corinne Vigreux, MD of TomTom Consumer. “With this new TomTom Go series, we are broadening the availability of TomTom Traffic even further. Our aim is to help more drivers avoid the jams and get there faster.”
The only difference between the TomTom Go 40, 50 and 60 aside from price is the screen size. The Go 60 has a 6-inch display, Go 50 is a 5-inch and the smallest and cheapest Go 40 has a 4-inch screen.
All three offer Limetime Maps, which let you download four or more full updates of the maps onto the satnav annually.
You can use the new Go range with voice commands as well, letting you navigate hands-free while driving.
Like other TomTom satnavs, the new entry-level Go range utilise a Route Bar, offering traffic and travel information at a glance.
You can also quickly search for locations and save your favourite places using the My Places function.
The new TomTom Go range starts at £139 for the TomTom Go 40, with full pricing yet to be announced. TomTom states the range is available to buy now from the official website, but at the time of writing we were unable to.
