Sky has redesigned its Sky Plus homepage to blend live and on-demand content in a more accessible manner.
Following the extreme rise in on-demand content viewing, Sky has adjusted its Sky Plus homepage for all its set top boxes to make it easier to discover content.
The new homepage, which starts rolling out between today March 18 and the end of May, features a “supercharged search box” located in the centre of the screen. You can search by title, actor, event, channel, sport of keyword to find selected content across on-demand and live content.
New icons also adorn the home page, reflecting viewers’ appetite for on-demand content. They now include: the standard TV Guide for looking through live content; the Planner for all your recorded or downloaded content; Catch Up TV for services like 4oD, BBC iPlayer and ITV Player; TV Box Sets; Best of On Demand; Sky Movies on Demand; and the Sky Store.
“With so much fantastic TV on offer, we know it can sometimes be difficult to decide what to watch,” said Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director of Sky’s TV Products. “Our new Homepage means it’s now much easier to quickly find what you want, when you want to watch it – whether that’s the big Premier League clash or catching up on Game of Thrones.”
The Sky Plus app will also be refreshed to reflect the set top box changes. You’ll get the new homepage and a rotating highlights carousel. You can now also turn your Sky Plus box on and off using the app.
“The new home page is a really important innovation, putting Sky Plus at the heart of the connected home. And there’s even more to come, with a smart new approach to recommendations coming later this year.”
