Apple has released a special video to celebrate 30 years of Mac and highlight how well received they have been.
The Cupertino company isn’t exactly one to blow its own trumpet, but with such a huge anniversary, it’s difficult not to let a bit of nostalgia creep in.
“Thirty years ago, the Mac put the power of technology in everyone’s hands, launching a generation of innovators who continue to change the world. This video celebrates some of those pioneers and the incredible impact they’ve made”, reads the video blurb.
The first Macintosh computer, literally called The Macintosh, was first launch by Steve Jobs on January 24, 1984.
It took centre stage of the now obsolete MacWorld expo, when Jobs pulled the cloth on the (then rather) small computer, mouse and 3.5-inch floppy disc drive.
Apple’s approach was considered to be a complete revelation in comparison to the Microsoft Windows approach and still is today.
The Ameican manufacturer enlisted the help of celebrity faces to show the versatility, power and capabilities of the Mac range, including the 13-inch MacBook Air 2014 and the brand new cylindrical Mac Pro.
Musicians Moby andHans Zimmer are all part of Apple’s fan club, as is designer April Greiman, who is well known for being one of the first to embrace computers as a design tool. Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield and British fashion photographer Nick Knight are also featured in the celebratory video.
