Publisher Rockstar has teased the GTA 5 box art, giving eager gamers a glimpse of the game’s upcoming cover courtesy of a building mural in New York.
With the gaming giant confirming that the official GTA 5 box art will be formally unveiled “soon,” Rockstar has started painting the GTA 5 cover on the side of a New York City building, prompting avid gamers to speculate on how the title may look on retailer’s shelves.
Suggesting that digital copies of the GTA 5 box art are just days away from being unveiled, Rockstar has hinted that the game’s sleeve could be made up of a selection of already released GTA 5 screenshots, pulling together a host of the game’s characters and content to form a single, engaging image.
When asked via Twitter “when is it going to be finished?” Rockstar, speaking on the GTA 5 box art teasingly responded: “next day or so, digital versions coming soon!”
GTA 5 Release Date
Although having previously been pegged for a ‘spring 2013’ arrival, Rockstar earlier this year backtracked on its original plans, switching the eagerly awaited GTA 5 release date to September 17, a move which both angered and disappointed a number of expectant fans.
“Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013,” Rockstar said in delaying the latest addition to the much loved Grand Theft Auto franchise. “We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time.”
The company added: “GTA V is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
“We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.”
