The iPad 5 has been videoed in the new space grey colour apple introduced with the iPhone 5S, complete with black bezel.

It seems Apple will be introducing the new iPhone 5S colour schemes to the iPad 5 when it supposedly launches on October 15, even down to the colour option for the front bezels.

UnboxTherapy posted a YouTube video of the iPad 5 chassis in space grey that included the front panel of Apple’s next 9.7-inch tablet offering.

The video reveals that the iPad 5 in space grey will have the same black bezel around the display as the iPhone 5S, and the silver option will still have the white bezel as it does on the iPad mini.

The prototype chassis also lacks any magnets down the left hand side of the iPad 5 for attaching the Apple Smart cover. This could mean Apple is preparing something new cover-wise for the iPad 5 or the magnets simply haven’t been added to the prototype yet.

Both the iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 are rumoured to arrive in the new gold colour option introduced by the iPhone 5S earlier this month, which has already proven exceedingly popular with consumers.

iPad 5 rumours

Retaining the 9.7-inch Retina display of the existing iPad 4, the iPad 5 will actually supposedly be 1.5cm narrower than the existing model due to the adoption of an iPad mini-esque design.

The iPad 5 should have a brushed metal back that is far less angular than the existing model to bring the full-sized in line with the design of the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5 and iPad mini.

Like the iPhone 5S, the iPad 5 is expected to pack the new Apple A7 processor, which would not only improve the tablet’s processing grunt but increase its 3D graphic capabilities too.

Heavily rumoured for an October 15 unveiling, the iPad 5 should launch alongside the iPad mini 2, which is tipped to pack the Touch ID fingerprint scanner of the iPhone 5S.
