HTC One Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update hits UK

The eagerly awaited HTC One Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update has started to roll out across UK based iterations of the flagship phone, the manufacturer has confirmed.

With a European release having kicked off earlier this month, HTC has now announced that UK based users of its flagship phone can now download the eagerly awaited HTC One Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update. There is currently no word as to when American owners of the quad-core Samsung Galaxy S4 rival will benefit from the latest rendition of Google’s hugely popular Android mobile operating system.

Confirmed via Twitter as being UK bound, the new HTC One Android 4.2.2 update sees users benefit from a selection of new lock screen widgets, the new Android Daydream wallpaper and a variety of new quick settings options.

Speaking via the official HTC UK Twitter feed, a company spokesperson stated: "The 4.2.2. update for the #HTCOne started rolling out in the UK from today. Download it now: Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now."

More than just a stock Android update, the arrival of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the HTC One sees the Taiwanese manufacturer bring a number of HTC Sense UI improvements, with Instagram added to Blinkfeed and a battery percentage indicator making an arrival. A further addition sees Google Now accessible simply by swiping up from the home key.

While not all HTC One owners can yet make use of the update, with a complete rollout expected to take some time, those with access will be able to find the over-the-air software patch in the ‘Software updates’ section of the phone’s settings menus.
