Virgin Media confirms Samsung Galaxy S4 pricing


Just days ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, Virgin Media has confirmed its Samsung Galaxy S4 pricing plans, with those signed up to its TiVo or broadband packages saving £5 off their monthly bills.


The latest UK network provider to unveil its Samsung Galaxy S4 pricing plans ahead of the handset’s formal unveiling, Virgin Media has confirmed that those looking to snap up the next must-have handset will be able to do so for as little as £31 per month.


“We’ve had record levels of interest in the Samsung Galaxy S4 so we’re delighted to offer our customers exclusive treats they can’t get elsewhere, including a fiver off their monthly bill and inclusive insurance,” Graeme Oxby, Executive Director of Mobile & Home Phone at Virgin Media said.

For those not already signed up to Virgin Media’s TiVo or broadband plans, the company’s Samsung Galaxy S4 price plans might not all that appealing. For those making use of the brand’s home service’s however, a £5 monthly saving on contract fees is sure to tempt many.


With the network charging up front handset fees on the Samsung Galaxy S4, those opting for the device will have three price packages to choose from.


When opting to pay a £99 one off handset fee, Virgin Media will offer a £36 ‘Starter’ package, £41 ‘Essential’ package and a £44 ‘Premiere’ deal. These packages incur an additional £2 per month charge when opting to pay just £69 up front.


With the Starter deal seeing users benefit from 200 inclusive monthly minutes, 500 texts and a 500MB data allowance, those looking to plump for the Essential package jump to 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data.


The Premiere package provides 2500 monthly minutes alongside unlimited texts and no data cap. All deals are available on a 24 month basis.


As well as benefitting from £5 off monthly fees, those already paying for Virgin’s other products will add unlimited calls and texts to other Virgin Mobiles and complementary handset insurance when snapping up the Samsung Galaxy S4.

With a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date having been pencilled in for this Friday, April 26, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean hosting handset is set to battle it out with the likes of the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and iPhone 5 for smartphone supremacy.

Having made the jump to a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and second, 2-megapixel snapper up front, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features list sees a raft of innovative new software options join the fray with Smart Scroll and Smart Pause utilising eye-tracking technologies.
