HTC M4 could be HTC One Mini

New rumours suggest the highly-rumoured HTC M4 could be the equivalent of a HTC One Mini, a more affordable version of the HTC flagship.

Like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, HTC could be looking to launch a similarly downgraded version of its HTC One in the form of the HTC M4.

Similar to the HTC One, the HTC M4, which we’re assuming is a working name rather than the final option, should have a metal alloy body and will sell an estimated 700,000 units in the second quarter of this year.

Tipped to launch in June, the HTC M4 could have an UltraPixel camera, making it a little more appealing than the Facebook Home handset, the HTC First.

HTC M4 Features

HTC One has apparently just finished talks with Catcher Technology to become the exclusive supplier of the metal alloy body used in the HTC M4, which would mean HTC could avoid any shortages when the device launches in June.

Recently tipped to play host to a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM, the HTC M4 could feature a 4.3-inch 720p HD resolution, downgraded from the HTC One’s 4.7-inch Full 1080p HD display and 1.7GHz quad-core CPU.

The HTC M4 will run the latest version of Google’s OS Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean overlaid with HTC Sense 5.0 UI complete with the HTC BlinkFeed aggregated news feed. It could also pack 16GB of internal storage alongside GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The mid-range smartphone could also feature the HTC UltraPixel camera of the HTC One, including the innovative HTC Zoe software that automatically captures a 3-second video and 20 still frames with every shutter press, turning the usually static photo gallery into an animated memory bank.

Not only could the HTC M4 be a HTC One Mini handset, it could also provide an alternative to the custom Facebook Home UI laden HTC First.
