Samsung Galaxy S4 video teases handset’s new features

Ahead of the imminent Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, the South Korean manufacturer has launched a new Samsung Galaxy S4 video teasing a selection of the handset’s new features.

With the Samsung Galaxy S3 follow-on arguably the most eagerly awaited handset of the moment, the iPhone 5 and HTC One rival has been teased in a new, official video, with a selection of the device’s new software offerings highlighted in the high-end production.

Tipped as being “slimmer yet stronger” than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will benefit from a raft of new features including the likes of Smart Pause and Smart Scroll, additions which utilise eye tracking technologies to pause and scroll through onscreen content when the handset detects users’ eyes are focussed away from or on the screen respectively.

Other new Samsung Galaxy S4 features highlighted in the newly released video include the handset’s dual-camera shooting capabilities and the touch-free user control capabilities.

With Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders now open, the handset is set to hit retailers later this month with a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date on the cards.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Specs

Set to launch in two different guises based on territory location, Samsung recently gave with one hand and swiftly took with the other, original stating the UK rendition of the device would boast the Exynos 5 eight-core processor before changing its mind, instead promising a 1.9GHz quad-core CPU for British shores.

Playing host to an expansive 5-inch display, the Samsung Galaxy S4 screen benefits from a stunning 1920 x 1080p Full HD resolution and an eye watering 441 pixel-per-inch image resolution. Despite making a considerable jump in screen size, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is slimmer than its predecessor, lining up at 7.9mm thick and just 130g in weight.

With a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera paired with a second, 2-megapixel snapper up front, the Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet is further enhanced by 2GB of RAM, a 2600mAh Lithium-Ion battery and the option of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options.

Launching in ‘White Frost’ and ‘Black Mist’ colour schemes, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features list is rounded off by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective coating, Google’s latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and the latest iteration of Samsung’s much loved TouchWiz UI.
