Bioshock Infinite retains UK All Format Gaming Chart crown

Bioshock Infinite has remained the UK’s most popular gaming release, topping the UK All Format Gaming Chart for a second consecutive week.

After last week’s debut success, 2K Games’ latest Bioshock offering has held strong for a second week despite a 75 per cent drop in week-on-week sales, holding off former chart topper Tomb Raider which sees Square Enix secure a third consecutive week in second position.

Hitting the charts in the final podium position, the highest new entry for the week ending April 6 sees Trion Worlds’ open-word shooter Defiance line up in a solid third. The sixth event launch of the year, Defiance hit retailers last Tuesday.

Mainstay of the UK All Format Gaming Chart, FIFA 13 has held strong in fourth for another week, with the 3DS and Wii U friendly Luigi’s Mansion 2 remaining in fifth.

Having suffered a 67 per cent drop in week-on-week sales, Microsoft’s Gears of War: Judgement has slumped from third to sixth, just one place of Activision’s resurgent 2012 COD offering, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Rounding out the week’s top ten are a selection of titles all up dramatically on last week’s chart positions, led off by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3, up from ninth to eighth. Making a jump six places to end the week in ninth was Skylanders Giants whilst Need for Speed Most Wanted reentered the top ten from 17th.
