Some of the Destiny beta details have been leaked online ahead of the testing period later this month.
Following the success of the Destiny alpha sessions earlier this year, gamers are eagerly anticipating the beta sessions and now we have some fresh information as to what we’ll get access to.
A letter sent to GameStop and EB Games store managers has revealed that the beta will give us access to story chapters for the first time.
A key excerpt from the letter was posted on Reddit, much to the delight of users, and explains that the beta is going to offer gamers a bigger sneak peak than the alpha.
“Beta is even bigger and better than the alpha, featuring four story chapters, four competitive multiplayer maps, a cooperative Strike and a huge world to explore with your own unique Guardian,” reads the letter.
The Destiny beta starts at 5pm on July 17 for PS4 and PS3 gamers, but won’t be accessible to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers until July 23 at 5pm.
Acitvision has announced that the beta will run until 6.59am on July 28, which means PlayStation gamers will have access for ten days, while Xbox players will only have four days in which to play the Destiny beta.
When announcing the timings and dates for the Destiny beta, Activision said the beta would offer gamers “a diverse sample of major activities featured in the full game.”
“As we prepare to launch our first beta on multiple console platforms around the world, we are excited and eager to open the flood gates,” said Harold Ryan, Bungie President. “We already love to play Destiny and with your help we can be ready for our launch in September.”
