Assassin’s Creed Rogue coming November for Xbox 360 and PS3

Assassin’s Creed Rogue has been officially announced with a November release date for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Following the leaked trailer, boxart and other details earlier today, Ubisoft has formally announced the last-gen Assassin’s Creed for 2014.

Rogue will only be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3, rather than the latest PS4 and Xbox One consoles that will be treated to Assassin’s Creed Unity later this year.

It is set during the middle of the Seven Years War in the 18th Century and offers access to North American locations. These include New York, the Appalachian River Valley and the frozen North Atlantic seen in the below trailer.

You play as Templar Shay Patrick Cormac, who is turned into an Assassin hunter following a brutal betrayal.

The game focuses strongly on the naval gameplay featured in previous games in the series, including Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Ubisoft also promises that there will be new weapons to play with both on land and at sea with Assassin’s Creed Rogue and that includes a new ship called the Morrigan.

“We know that there are many Assassin’s Creed fans with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles who want to get their hands on a new Assassin’s Creed game this year,” said Martin Capel, Game Director at Ubisoft Sofia. “Assassin’s Creed Rogue completes the North America saga started with Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag and gives previous generation console owners an exclusive opportunity to experience fan-requested features, such as playing as a Templar.”

To accompany the announcement, Ubisoft has released the below cinematic trailer for the game.

You might recognise it from today’s earlier leak, but at least this time it is better quality.
