The Samsung Galaxy Alpha launch has been pencilled in for August 4, according to a notoriously accurate source.
Ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch in September, Samsung could launch its premium bodied Samsung Galaxy Alpha next month.
According to Sammobile sources, Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Alpha on August 4, rather than the mid-August schedule originally tipped by leaks.
Originally expected to a high-end premium version of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Alpha now tipped to blend a mixture of high- and mid-range components with a metal finish to place it just above the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini.
Previous rumours suggest the Galaxy Alpha will come with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, offer 32GB of internal storage but lack microSD card support thanks to its aluminium body edges.
Instead of using metal all over for the Galaxy Alpha, it looks like Samsung will kit it out with an aluminium frame, but retain the leather-effect perforated rear back panel found in the Samsung Galaxy S5.
At one point, the Galaxy Alpha was tipped to a limited edition device, only available in certain regions or locked to specific carriers. However, with such middling specs, we doubt whether Samsung will limit the Alpha, so we could see it arrive in the UK after all.
Aside from those few specs, there’s little else that we know about the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, apart from its build.
But, if this report is correct, we should see the Galaxy Alpha launch occur on Monday, August 4, so there’s not long to wait now.
The Galaxy Note 4 on the other hand should be quite the premium device, entering the market with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with a 5.7-inch QHD 2560 x 1440p resolution display.
