Huawei confirms Arsenal phone release date

With the start of the new football season on the horizon, Huawei has confirmed that the footy-themed Huawei Ascend P7 Arsenal Edition will be released on August 16.

Officially unveiled earlier this month, the Arsenal-branded flagship phone has now been dated for launch, although pricing is still to be confirmed.

Speaking with TrustedReviews, an official Huawei spokesperson has confirmed that the Huawei Ascend P7 Arsenal Edition will be made available to consumers in line with the opening day of the Barclays Premier League season on August 16.

Although those interested in the phone have been able to register their interest in the device since it was unveiled last week, launch plans had yet to be outlined.

Aside from sporting the Arsenal badge emblazoned on the phone’s rear, and a bevy branded software, including wallpapers and games, the sponsorship tie-in device is the same Ascend P7 we reviewed back in May.

Pairing a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, the Ascend P7’s specs sheet is further enhanced by a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and an 8-megapixel snapper up front for selfie lovers.

Finalised pricing is expected in the coming weeks.
