Samsung has officially spoken out on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for the first time, confirming the upcoming phablet will launch during the second half of the year with a “new form factor.”
With the stylus-hosting handset having become a dominant force in the oversized smartphone space, the Korean manufacturer has confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will mark the start of a new design direction for the company.
Although not confirming the numerical naming of the handset, Yoon Han-kil, Senior Vice President of Samsung’s Product Strategy Team told Reuters that the next-generation Galaxy Note will boast a “new form factor.”
While Samsung has faced repeated calls to introduce more premium materials and improved build quality to its leading smartphone lines, Yoon has failed to expand on what the Note 4’s ‘new form factor’ will have in store.
He stated: “Our ultimate goal is to make products that consumers really aspire to have. This is how we are trying to find a breakthrough in the stagnant premium market.”
Recent Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumours have hinted that the phone will run an even larger display than the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3, with the recently confirmed Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor to power the device.
It has been suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date will be held during IFA 2014, with the Berlin-based tech show to be held between September 5 and 10.
