Spotify Shuffle is now available on iOS and Android

Spotify is now available for free on smartphones and tablets for the first time, as the music streaming company launches a new service, Spotify Shuffle.

With mobile Spotify access having previously been limited to paid monthly subscribers, the streaming service has now been opened up to all users on the move.

While iOS and Android tablet users can now make use of the full, free Spotify experience on their laptop replacements, smartphone owners can make use of the all new Spotify Shuffle without charge.

Similar to Spotify Radio, a free mobile service already available to users in the US, Spotify Shuffle lets smartphone users listen to music intersected by adverts. Offering shuffled access to an artist’s full back catalogue, the new Shuffle service offers unadulterated access to single musicians at a time.

For those after a bit more audio variety, the free mobile service will let users listen to their previously created playlists.

On top of this, the smartphone friendly service will offer access to a wide array of third party created playlists, letting you discover all manner of new music perfectly attuned for whatever mood or situation you might be in.

Available now for iOS and Android smartphone users, there is currently no word on when Spotify Shuffle access will be rolled out to Windows Phone powered handsets.
