The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be formally unveiled during Samsung’s newly confirmed pre-IFA Unpacked event, the company’s invitations have hinted.

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 follow-on widely expected to be formally unveiled in the days leading up to the Berlin-based tech show, Samsung has now confirmed that it will hold its next Samsung Unpacked press event on September 4, telling the media to “Note” the date.

The thinly veiled reference all but confirms the company’s plans to introduce its third-generation stylus-hosting Galaxy Note smartphone in just a matter of weeks.

Recent Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumours have claimed that the phone will land with a 5.7-inch display wrapped around a speedy 1.9GHz quad-core processor, the same 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera found within the Samsung Galaxy S4 and an impressive 3GB of RAM.

According to claimed insider sources for Samsung’s native South Korea, the September 4 Galaxy Note 3 release will also see the Apple and HTC rival introduce its own smartwatch offering.

Expected to be known as the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the smartwatch has been tipped as a pre-emptive strike against the widely expected Apple iWatch, with an Android OS base overlaid with elements of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

An extension of your smartphone, the Samsung smartwatch has been mooted to offer incoming call and messaging alerts direct to your wrist.

Samsung confirmed its smartwatch plans earlier this year, with Samsung's executive VP Lee Young Hee stating: "We've been preparing the watch product for so long. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them."
