The Samsung Galaxy Mega, in both its 5.8- and 6.3-inch varieties, will reportedly also be available in plum purple.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Mega will be getting a plum purple paintjob to complement the Black Mist and White Frost colour varieties that will be available come launch.

Although there isn’t an image yet, the Plum Purple option should be a vibrant addition to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3.

The flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 has been released in a total of six colours, so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that Samsung would start rolling out additional colours to its other smartphone devices.

Samsung Galaxy Mega Features

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a 6.3-inch screen LCD HD screen, with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is 4G LTE compatible.

There are internal storage options of 8GB or 16GB, but there’s a microSD card slot to expand that with cards up to 64GB.

Both the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Mega 5.8 have an 8-megapixel rear camera with a 1.9-megapixel snapper up front.

The slightly smaller Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a 5.8-inch screen, but drops the Mega 6.3’s HD resolution to 960 x 540 qHD.

Powered by a lesser 1.4GHz dual-core processor, it has 8GB of internal storage – also expandable via microSD.

Neither of the chunky phablets boast the specs prowess of the Samsung Galaxy S4, but do have the same TouchWix UI, including all the software add-ons like S Translator, ChatON, Samsung Link and AirView.

A UK release date for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 has yet to be announced, but the Mega 6.3 will be available from July with a leaked price tag of £459.99 SIM free.
