Google Glass porn app in development

The first Google Glass porn app is already in development and could launch “within days” on Google’s augmented reality headset.

Adult app creator MiKandi has announced it is developing a porn app for Google Glass and hopes to create pornography innovations with the device.

“Google Glass Porn has been making its rounds, and while studios are intrigued, no one seems to be doing anything about it,” said MiKandi co-founder Jennifer McEwan to ZDNet. “So I wanted to let you know that we picked up our glass and, yup, we’re making content for it. As far as I know, we’re one of the few, if not the only, adult companies with the device right now. So far, it’s really fun!”

Of course, the POV potential with Google Glass for an adult app is obvious, especially its hands-free functionality. However, MiKandi aims to use the technology in less obvious ways and is currently in possession of Google Glass.

“We’re experimenting with the features of Glass. From our initial use of the device, photo and video recording is more powerful than we expected. Obviously, Glass is perfect for shooting POV video, so we’re experimenting with that first. But what’s really interesting about Glass is that it’s not just a hands-free camera. It can receive and send data, so there are a lot of interesting interactions that we want to explore.”

Google Glass is an obvious device choice for the amateur home film maker, but pron directors have already announced they plan to use the headsets to explore the “full potential” of the technology for adult movies.

“It’s so easy and familiar to wear, that from a shooter’s perspective it feels like you’re recording with your own eyes. Because it feels so natural, you can forget about the technology and just be in the moment,” added MiKandi.

The arrival of Google Glass porn apps is bound to be another blow for the search engine giant, who is already receiving high quantities of criticism over potential privacy issues.

American casinos and strip clubs have pre-emptively banned the device on their premises prior to general availability for the technology.

A Google Glass release date for the general public is said to be “still a year-ish away”, with the device launching around the beginning of 2014.
