The 1020 only has a 1.2MP front camera
The Nokia Lumia Superman could a smartphone with a specific focus on the front-facing camera, making it the king of the selfies.
Well, in the Windows Phone market anyway. According to the latest report, Nokia is working on a smartphone with the codename “Superman” that will feature a high-resolution front-facing camera, making it a prime purchase for selfie lovers.
“Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans” tell The Verge that the Lumia Superman will feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, up from the standard 1.2-megapixel offering.
This would match the front-facing camera offerings of the newly launched HTC One M8, which also has a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
Apparently the Superman will pack a 4.7-inch display with mid-range specs, the majority of which aren’t known at this point.
It is expected to debut towards the end of the year to coincide with a later Windows Phone 8.1 update. The first Windows Phone 8.1 update is pencilled in for July, but the Superman should arrive with a second update later on in 2014.
Also tipped for launch this year is a Nokia Lumia Goldfinger phone, although it was originally tipped for an announcement in line with the Windows Phone 8.1 unveiling.
However, it has been supposedly delayed so that it can launch with support for its special 3D Touch gesture controls, which will allegedly work in a similar fashion to the Samsung Air View and Air Gesture features.
The codename Goldfinger smartphone along with two additional Windows Phone 8.1 device are still undergoing testing.
